ABOUT

The New Mexico Association of Meat Processors (NMAMP) was founded in 2024 by a group of independent processors who recognized a growing need for unity, support, and stronger communication across our state. We’re a cooperative effort—created by processors, for processors—built to protect and promote the future of local meat in New Mexico.

After attending national events hosted by the American Association of Meat Processors (AAMP), our board saw firsthand how other states benefit from strong associations that offer real connection, support, and networking opportunities. We came home inspired and determined to build that same kind of community here.

We also saw equipment and resources that many New Mexico processors didn’t even know existed—simply because the connections weren’t there. Without a network, it’s hard to get suppliers into our region or learn what tools are out there to make our jobs easier.

That’s why NMAMP exists: to bring processors together, help solve common problems, and give our members access to the education, equipment, and relationships they need to thrive. Whether you’re custom or inspected, rural or retail—we’re here to support your work and make sure you're never navigating the system alone.
